The Ejdern will make an extra trip to Mariefred on 4 July<\/h1>

The Ejdern will make an extra trip to Mariefred on Saturday 4 July.<\/p>

As we were unfortunately unable to attend \u00c5ngans Day this year, and as Birka is closed to visitors this Saturday, we are organising a special trip to Mariefred.<\/p>

Visit Gripsholm Castle, take a steam train ride, and meet the s\/s Mariefred as it arrives from Stockholm.<\/p>

So make the most of this opportunity and join us on this day trip. We set off from S\u00f6dert\u00e4lje at 09:45, return from Mariefred at 16:30 and arrive back home at around 19:30.<\/p>

S\/S Ejdern<\/strong> was built in 1880 at G\u00f6teborgs mekaniska verkstad for coastal traffic in the Gothenburg archipelago and was launched on 14 May the same year. Between 1898 and 1906, the Ejdern travelled the waters around Lake Roxen to finally end up in S\u00f6dert\u00e4lje.<\/p>

And today she is the World's Oldest Propeller Powered Coal Fired Steamship with Original Machine still in operation .. More about the ship and the association<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

If you are 16 years or older and want to try seafaring. Then you are welcome to contact the Office via\u00a0e-mail<\/a>\u00a0or by phone. If you think it's fun and want to continue, we will help you with safety training and a medical certificate for seafarers. A small detail is that we in the crew work voluntarily.
