Original Statutes from the 70s

Proposition 1: Revision of the statutes of the museum association Ångfartyget Ejdern.

In connection with a spot check by Södertälje municipality regarding associations applying for municipal grants, it emerged that the municipality has new directives regarding an association's statutes. From 2025, associations applying for grants must have a certain level of content and modernisation in their statutes. The existing statutes date from the 1970s and were considered by the municipality to be in need of updating and some additions, such as clarifications regarding the interpretation of decisions, withdrawal, etc.

Objective: to update the statutes to a level accepted by the municipality without major changes or altered language.

Proposal: A proposal for revision of the association's statutes in accordance with the wishes of Södertälje Municipality has been developed. In meetings with representatives from the municipality, this proposal has been considered to comply with their requirements for associations that intend to apply for grants from the municipality.

Main points:
- Update of Traffic purposes
- Clarification under Membership regarding the handling of personal data, GDPR, Discrimination and children's rights.
- Clarification regarding Withdrawal, Signature and Finance
- Clarification regarding the Annual General Meeting and included agenda
- Clarification on Audit
- Supplement on Charter Interpretation

Proposal 2: Change of membership categories.

In discussions with Södertälje municipality about what requirements the municipality sets in order to be able to apply for and receive grants, from 2025 associations must have at least 50% of their members living in the municipality.
This is a problem for our organisation as we have many members in the country and abroad.
The municipality's requirements state that so-called. Supporting members are not included in this and we have also seen that other similar associations (for example Föreningen Skärgårdsbåten and Föreningen Minsveparen M 20).

Thus, the proposal is that we change our membership forms to offer membership as Active Member (incl. family membership) and Supporting Member (financial support and organisations).

To make this possible, we need to make a change to the Membership section of our statutes.

Addition to paragraph 4 Membership.
The organisation has two membership categories: Active Members and Supporting Members.
Active members participate in the organisation's activities, have the right to vote at meetings and are eligible for election to positions of trust.
Supporting members, including members who are legal persons, support the association's activities financially or ideally but do not have the right to vote and are not eligible for election to positions of trust. The Board of Directors decides on the adoption and possible change of membership category.
The amount of the membership fee for each category of membership is determined by the annual general meeting. Membership fees are payable per calendar year.
